Circle Line Harbor Cruise

Our first attraction in New York was a 2 hour cruise around lower Manhattan including the Statue of Liberty. Once again this was on our New York City Pass so we went to the will call window. We still had to wait almost 2 hours for the next tour. During that time we went next door to the Intrepid Museum.

Once on the boat we enjoyed the tour and especially the mildly campy guide. The 2 hour tour starts at the 42nd Street Pier and cruises south towards downtown, does a float-by the State of Liberty then motors up the East River to see a couple of the cool bridges there. It then turns around just short of the United Nations Building and works its way back to where it started. The 3 hour tour does actually do the full trip around the island of Manhattan.

The Circle Tour was 2 hours (retails $24 per person) and was included in our CityPass ($64 vs $122 for 5 attractions, quite a bargain and SAVES TIME by not waiting in long lines). We loved the cruise because you get to see everything. We had great weather and included the Intrepid museum next door as the first stop. You've got to go on a cruise to see the skyline and the islands (Ellis, Statue of Liberty, etc). Normally, there's choices from $19 per person, to even dinner cruises with delicious meals.

Next: Right next door is the Intrepid Museum.
